My day and Next Weekend is GAITHERS Family Fest in the SMOKIES

Had a busy day.

Went to the Mall. Belks, Kohls, Sally Beauty, and Ross for Less. Hobby Lobby.

Physical therapy with Rosie.

Had 2 hot flash episodes today. They really knackered me.

Gonna recoup tomorrow and decide what to do on Saturday and Sunday.

I received so many compliments today. Wore a long dress Oriental Style. Paisley. EVERYONE LOVED IT and could NOT believe I got it at the Great Smokies Flea Market for EIGHT BUCKS! Brand New! Wore my Hair up. Bettie Page Bangs. Make-up was glam. Daddy even told me and Rosie how beautiful we looked and he was proud to have daughters that dress to the nines when they go out! I LOVE MY DADDY!

Wish I had Special events where I could REALLY get dolled up. I have so many lovely PARTY dresses. Elegant. Will wear some of them next weekend when Rosie and I make our annual Trek to Gaither’s Homecoming FAMILY FEST IN THE SMOKIES in Gatlinburg. 3 DAYS of Wonderful southern gospel and bluegrass singing, comedians and motivational speakers. Get to see Ken Davis AGAIN. Love him. Plus get to see Ian Cron for the 1st time. PLUS:

I will probably wear a lot of retro pin-up type clothes and hairstyles. They went over well last year. Had  men asking to have their picture taken with me. So Flattering.

I am going to get my first MANICURE in a salon next week. I know I want gel tips and polish.. not sure if I am gonna go french style or red polish or black polish. Doing my own pedicure since I am a diabetic and would rather do them myself for safety reasons. Gotta be careful with my feet.

I actually have a light tan from using the Jergens Natural Glow. Thank God… I am no longer ivory. More like I have a peaches and cream complexion now.

Hope everyone has an awesome Friday and Weekend.

Much love to John, Shane, Carmen, Terri,Rebecca, Sheri, and Rick. Thanks for your supprt and friendship.

MAY GOD BLESS AND PROSPER EVERYONE,

Angela Bell Goode

Happy and at Peace tonight

Doing well tonight.

I heard from Shane today. He has just been busy, busy, busy. I feel so much better since me messaged me. I REALLY missed him more than he knows.

Decided to cut bangs..”Bettie Bangs” like I did last spring. This time just not as short. Looks good… and covers up my forehead wrinkles… and sinus swellings I get above my eyes.

Rolled my hair in sponge curlers.

Even shaved my legs and pits tonight.

Rosie goes to Physical Therapy tomorrow.

Also got to Wally World to pick up my meds.

Having Diabetic complications on my feet. Seems like no shoes I wear are comfy at all…. All of em makes sores and/or blisters on my footsies. Watching all my lesions closely cause I know from experience how one small innocent cut can lead a diabetic to having their foot or leg amputated. My Mom lost both of her legs due to diabetes. I am being careful.

We go to Knoxville  on Wednesday.

This was suppose to get posted on Monday night and the net went down. Finally able to post it.

Prayers and Blessings.

Life is Good except for….

Angela4JohnSMALL

My life is so amazing.

I am not the same woman I was a few years ago and that is in a good way.

I only wish I could enjoy all the fabulous changes and opportunities coming my way… But Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromylagia are not allowing that. If I over-do it even a lil bit I am down for days trying to recoup from it. I have been aching from my head to my toes lately. Exhausted and lethargic. Been needing 12 hours of sleep even to attempt getting up the next day.

I have to Thank God, Dad, Rosie and John for helping me overcome so many obstacles. Also many thanks to all my doctors: Dr Blake Melling (Family Doctor) , Dr Joanne Langton (Endocrinologist) , and Dr Aqueel Kouser (Rheumatologist) to just mention a few.

Spent a lovely  3 night / 4 day weekend in Gatlinburg  with my Sister Rosie. I was more fatigued this time than last years mini-vacay to Gatlinburg Family Fest / Gaither Homecoming Concerts. Went to 5 shows. Had a good time in spite of hurting in my shoulders, neck, back, legs and tailbone. I had to go to the bathroom often just to help relieve some of the tailbone aches. It helped.

I am down over 110 lbs now. Wearing a size 10-12. Receiving so much attention from men and I love it. Had guys ask me this past weekend if they could have their picture taken with me…. and  that is not counting the ones who took my picture without even asking. FLATTERING.

I am dressing different than I had been. Getting back to dressing more provocative but not over doing it… gotta remember I am a 45 year old woman. Loving wearing dresses and showing off my legs.

Angela trying to look sexy and failing at it miserably. LOL!

My hair is now Jet Black. I  use to dye it black for years… mainly in my 20′s. Love it and so does everyone else! I also cut some short bangs ala Bettie Page style.. but I still can style them away from my face if I want to. I sometimes wear hair extensions, wigs, and clip on pony-tails on occasion. Like to change my look often. Been wearing my hair is a beehive bouffant style lately.

Rosie had a eye appt. Visual Field Test prior to starting Plaquenil. My eye doc who is also Rosie’s eye doc, his nurse and receptionist barely recognized me. First time they had seen me with Makeup. I look majorly different with makeup they could not believe how beautiful I looked today.

I finally was brave enough to go take my road test to get my drivers license. Didn’t tell no one but Dad and Rosie just in case I failed… BUT I passed on my first attempt. WOO-HOO! Now if I can only get Dad to let me and Rosie take the mini-van out alone. He still says no… that I am not ready for that yet. I hope to make a short trip out with just Rosie and I…. we may go to the grocery store OR to McDonalds for some Unsweetened Ice Tea. MAYBE.

Rosie has a surgery date for Gastric Bypass. It is July 26th. She has to get pre-op testing, take an education class over the next few weeks. She will be on a low carb-high protein diet all of July. She has already lost 2 dress sizes. I am so proud of her.

Rose and Angela Picture was taken on Rosie's 44th Birthday

Gonna be driving to West Virginia to visit family as soon as the weather  dips down to the 70′s- mid 80′s.

I do have more self confidence on some days. Still suffering from panic attacks. On Xanax full time now. SNOOZE…

My Rheumy has me on a high dose of a narcotic and it is helping *some* with the pain I have but  it makes me so drowsy. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. Snore…

Sugars are doing well. My Insurance will not cover Victoza injections but my doc is willing to give me  samples. I may have to go on byetta soon. Will see.

Been having severe anxiety and depression at times. Gonna discuss it with Melling this week. I feel so helpless and worthless at times.

Rosie’s lower back has been aching for a few weeks now. She sees her urologist Dr Bedford Waters this week in Knoxville. I am driving. Can’t wait.

I am 45 years old and got my first set of keys for the car and house now.

I even pumped gas for the very 1st time last week. Kudos to me.

I have been pampered, spoiled and protected by my family for far too long.

I have even learned how to wash and dry clothes… still haven’t mastered the skill of putting clothes away. Nor doing dishes.

Dad has been in and out of the hospital for a few months. Currently he has protein in his urine, enlarged heart, COPD, pneumonia, a bum knee that needs replaced… and a case of the worst “grumpys n grouchys”  in the world. His Doctors doesn’t want him doing anything but he still does some… albeit  not as much as he used to. I know how tough it is on him to sit and do nothing… that contributes to his moodiness. He is rough on me and Rosie at times but we still love him.

Smoki went to Lowes today. Oh yea.. Smoki is my Cairn Terrier. He loves Lowes… and of course everyone adores Smoki. He is a doll. He wore his black leather fringe bandana today and he goes crazy when he see’s it and can’t wait till it is on him … and hates when we take it off.  Went to Lowes to look for Dad a new riding lawn mower. Should be delivered tomorrow. His old lawn tractor has seen its last days. Also bought Dad a new TV 32″ LCD Plasma. He put it in his bedroom since that is where he spends most of his time lately. Appreciate prayers for him. THANKS!

Smoki My Cairn Terrier aka TOTO Dog

Then we took Smoki to Wendy’s for a Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger plain. His fave.

Smoki

Came home to a brilliant webcam session with John. He is heading to Spain on Monday with his Sis to celebrate her finishing her last chemo/radiation treatments and hopefully is now free of breast cancer. John is the best. He and I get closer daily. Known one another for over 3 years now. Best friends. I am already missing him. He will be away a week but will send me emails/text messages.

Been having severe stomach issues again. Left upper quadrant pain and other issues. IBS Sucks.

May go to the cinema to see a movie this weekend.

Praying for all my Aunts, Uncles, and cousins… as well as my friends. Been reconnecting with so many people I went to school with on Faceook. I love getting reacquainted.

Tailbone is aching so I had better finish this and post it. Heading to bed.

Adios and Good Night,

Angela

Dita Von Teese Make-up, Hair, and Beauty Tips

Dita Von Teese

Dita Von Tesse is a classic beauty and burlesque performer. Miss Von Teese is one of the few beauty icons who has very pale ivory skin. She is a natural blonde but dyes her hair and eyebrows a luxurious shade of raven black. Her type of beauty goes back the the pin-up glory days of such artists as Bettie Page.

Dita is the 1st BEAUTY ICON I am featuring….

Dita Von Teese "the Queen of Burlesque"

Dita Von Teese is an American burlesque artist, model and actress. She was born Heather Renée Sweet on September 28, 1972, in Rochester, Michigan, the middle of three daughters. Her mother was a manicurist and her father was a machinist at a company that made graphite. She is of partly Armenian heritage. She was classically trained as a ballet dancer from an early age. She started her career at strip clubs then she began some glamour modeling, before she eventually became a fetish model. Her retro pin-up look, frequently emulating Bettie Page in photo shoots. Von Teese stands at 5 ft’ 5″ (165 cm.) and weighs 114 pounds (52 kg)

Dita Von Teese is interviewed by Tina Turnbow is a professional makeup artist, who is known for lending her celebrity clients editorial polish.Dita offers her favorite beauty products and her make-up and hair tips in the article.

This past Cinco De Mayo, I enjoyed sipping a new signature cocktail from Cointreau with the brand’s beautiful spokesperson, Dita Von Teese. The cocktail, which was called the MargaDita, was as well put together as the lady herself. Between sips, we discussed the power of sunglasses, damp skin and her opium-den requirements.

TT: If pressed for time when doing your makeup, what are your bare essentials?

DVT: Flawless skin is the most important thing, then red lips. In exactly that order. Red lips don’t look good on blotchy, uneven skin. I use Dior Capture Totale Foundation, and a dusting of Mineralize Powder by MAC. Dior Dolce Vita is my favorite red lipstick. When in a rush, I tie my hair back and throw on a great pair of sunglasses…and voila! Don’t underestimate the cosmetic power of sunglasses. It’s worth spending a bit of money on a quality pair. I usually go for Dior or Louis Vuitton.

TT: I can tell that underneath the foundation and powder you have lovely skin. How do you care for it?

DVT: I have really sensitive skin, and a few allergies, so I stay on it. I recently had a bout with rosacea. I was told by a big name dermatologist, “this is your life now,” because he couldn’t figure out how to get rid of it. A million creams later, I went to a real skin doctor in Orange County. He prescribed a pill and one lotion, and boom, it was gone. The moral being: find the guy who takes your insurance.

TT: He sounds knowledgeable. Did he give you any other tips?

DVT: Yes, he said it doesn’t matter what moisturizer you use. Just make sure you put it on right after cleansing, while your skin is still damp. That way your pores can absorb it while they are still open. So choose any cream you like for the face and body. My choice is always Creme de la Mer- it’s pricey, but so worth it.

TT: Do you usually prefer a very matte look?

DVT: Always, glowing is not my thing. A matte finish diffuses any features about my face that I’m not comfortable with, while shine highlights them. It’s like soft-focus magic. Plus, my favorite look in makeup comes from the era when women kept their skin matte and flawless.

TT: Who are your favorite beauty icons?

DVT: Oh, my all time favorite is Betty Grable. Her look, her humor and most of all her spirit and sense of individuality. Just like Madonna 20 years ago. She was unlike anyone, and stayed true to herself. Modern day, I find Carmen Dell’Orefice very unique and fantastic.

[Slideshow]

TT: Has it taken time to find what works best for you?

DVT: My look has taken time to evolve. I’ve gotten to a place where I feel pretty and confident. I think that’s important for anyone. Personally, I have no reason to change it, no matter what people say or advise. I will save baring all for the person I am intimate with.

TT: When you have time to put a “cat eye” on, what is your favorite liner and do you have any tips about application?

DVT: Stay in shape with it. When I go a while without putting it on, it’s always rough at first. But when I’ve been applying it daily, it’s “whooosh;” it goes on seamlessly. Generally, getting that perfect, flattering line is hard! I look down into a mirror to apply it so I can see the shape and match them up better. Make sure not to pull your eyelid out at the side, because when you let go, the line will be a completely different shape. My favorite liner is Guerlain Divinora Liquid Liner. For lashes, its Dior Show Mascara. A truly winning combo!

TT: Being a natural blonde, what do you use to darken your brows?

DVT: It’s easy with Just For Men hair dye. I’m kind of a do-it-yourself person as far as my hair, makeup and styling go. I’m in the process of writing a beauty book, where I do it all. It’s hard work. But nothing good comes easy.

TT: As for your incredible figure- how do you stay in shape?

DVT: I think variety is key. I prefer the competitive atmosphere of a classroom setting, like yoga or Pilates. That keeps me going. Although performing on stage is great exercise! I just haven’t been doing it as much as I’d like. It’s all the requirements and special effects I need to do a show. Many venues are not big enough or are not set up for everything. Many can’t accommodate my Opium Den, for example, which is part of my most opulent show. I won’t settle for middle of the road- I go for grand. I’m pretty particular, as you might have guessed.

Synthetic FULL Bangs aka Fringe Clip-in Clip-on Hair Extension *Hair Review* http://www.KKCenterHK.com

I purchased these FULL Synthetic aka FAKE HAIR bangs fringe from http://www.kkcenterhk.com/

PRODUCT LINK http://www.kkcenterhk.com/p1324/Gill-Full-Bangs-Fake-Bang-Fringe-Clip-On/in/product_info.html

I wore them for the first time today and really enjoyed the quick and ease of use. They clip-on or as some say clip-in your hair with 2  small snaps… that did not tug or yank my hair or scalp.  They made my shoulder length hair have some pizazz without having to chop my hair.  They gave me an entire different look with-in seconds. I have purchased 2 more different style bangs/fringe and will post pics when I wear them.
